Some few personal projects I've been working on my spare time.
PRE-DOMINACE WAR V CHALLENGE : TECHNO MAGE
This is my first time joining Dominance War. For the Pre-Challenge, the brief was to create and choose 1 from 4 classes (War General, Techno Mage, Shadow and Corrupted), 3000 tris max total for the character, weapons and gears, 1024X1024 for diffuse, spec, glow alpha. No normal or bump map allowed. 4 weeks to finish.
I chose to create a Techno Mage, 2615 total tris, 1024 x 1024 diffuse, spec and alpha, here's my finished character work , and now preparing and looking forward for the main event.
BIG BLOCK GAMES : GOBLIN WAR MACHINE
With over 100 thousand players across the globe enjoying this game, I'm really happy to be part of this fun and addicting game. For this project, I worked on modeling the Goblin.

GLOBAL GAME JAM 2011 : PLANET BUSTER
Aside from working, learning new techniques, doing workshops and joining local and international competitions. I also love collaborating with people.
This is also the first time for me to join the Global Game Jam, it''s a 48 Hour event of collaboration and making games. I really had fun working with my team and helping other teams as well. Below is one of the title screen I made for our team.

Aside from doing some freelance work, I also decided to join a Halloween theme challenge for a 3D Character design on my spare time.
NHNZ - RUNAWAY : FLUTTER
After the TV Project (China’s Lost Pyramids), I worked for 2 weeks in the Game’s Unit of NHNZ called Runaway Play under Tim Nixon. I worked as an Effects Artist, focused on the development of “Forest Magic” particle system.

NHNZ : ANCIENT SECRETS - CHINA'S LOST PYRAMIDS
(Jan 2010 - May 2010)
This project was created for National Geographic. My role in the team was one of the 3D (Freelance) Artist-Maya Generalist (modeling, texturing, animation, lighting, rendering and compositing.)
Aside from that I also did a few Pre-viz work for their project "China's Smart Tower" which was part of the Megastructures series.
Below is one of my sample models for China's Lost Pyramid ( Terracotta Soldier Statue - ZBrush Sculpt ) and the Official Trailer can also be found in NHNZ's Website

Freelance work for Maru Nihoniho of Metia Interactive, My task was to create characters based on her original game ip "The Guardian". Here are some of the characters I've done so far.
Process: I started by sketching some concept and finalised their silhouette, then modeled a simple base mesh in Maya - exported them to ZBrush for detailing.

DIGIPOST - Cascade, The Natural Order ( My first major career break 2007)
The VFX was all done here in New Zealand at Digipost. Took a team of 4-6 artists 18 weeks, from character design, supervising the shoot, high res print stills and then working through 52 shots in a 60 second commercial.
Directed by Jesse Warn of Film Construction and DOP by the legendary John Seale (Oscar winner for The English Patient, plus noms for Rain man and Witness). The agency was Badjar.
Modeled with Maya and Zbrush.
Camera and object tracking - Syntheyes
Animation - Maya
Rendering - Mental Ray and Renderman for Maya
Compositing - Shake and Flame
VFX Supervisor - James Cunningham

NIGHTFALL : MDS Game Development Project Posted : JUL 10/09
"I survived the Nightfall", recently I completed my course in Media Design School, Graduate Diploma of Game Development (Art Stream). My primary task was to create 2 of the main characters in the game ( Scientist and 1st Lieutenant ), as well as menus, splash screens and UI graphics. In the final weeks, I worked closely with our Animator Lead and Environment Lead the school's marketing department in developing promotional material, including posters, trailer, box art and even T-Shirt design.

Character Work
2d and 3D graphical work for the HUD, menus, splash screens and UI graphics. I collaborated constantly with Tim Bewick and some other programmers responsible for the UI functionality.
MARKETING MATERIALS : Towards the end of the course I worked closely with Tame Tahana our Lead Animator for the trailer, Lead Environment Artist Blake Dwan and Jason Bunker for the screenshots and our schools marketing person Stephanie Dunant
